Smart & Biggar shortlisted for 10 LMG ‘Women in Business Law’ awards in 2021

Smart & Biggar is pleased to share that we have been shortlisted in ten categories for the 2021 LMG Women in Business Law Awards - Americas.

The Women in Business Law Awards celebrates the achievements of women lawyers and the diversity agenda in legal work from firms across the globe. Recognized on both a firm and individual level, Smart & Biggar is shortlisted for more categories than any other nominated Canadian firm.

Individual nominees — women who are recognized at the forefront of legal work in business law in North America — include Toronto partner Yoon Kang, shortlisted for Patent Lawyer of the Year; Toronto partner Urszula Wojtyra, shortlisted for both Patent and Life Sciences Lawyer of the Year; and Toronto senior associate Noelle Engle-Hardy, shortlisted for the IP Rising Star Award. All shortlisted nominees are selected based on peer review from leading women practitioners.

Smart & Biggar is also nominated for six North American firm categories, including “Best Firm” for Diversity Initiative, Gender Diversity, Mentoring Programme, Work-Life Balance, Talent Management, and Leading Canadian Firm. All short-listed law firms are selected for their progressive diversity and inclusion initiatives and their programs to support and encourage women and diversity within the industry.
