Smart & Biggar ranked Tier 1 across all areas in Managing Intellectual Property's 2023 IP Stars
Smart & Biggar is proud to share that we have been recognized as a Tier 1 firm in all practice areas (trademark contentious, trademark prosecution, patent contentious, patent prosecution and copyright & related rights) in Managing Intellectual Property (MIP) IP Stars, Canada 2023, affirming our leading position in the Canadian market.
In the most recent release of firm rankings, for copyright and related rights, Smart & Biggar was recognized as a Tier 1 firm matching our Tier 1 standing in all other practice areas. Smart & Biggar also leads the market with 16 practitioners listed as ‘IP Stars’ for both trademarks and patents, more than any other firm in Canada.
MIP researchers commented that Smart & Biggar “retains its position as one of the leading IP firms in Canada” and is “highly recommended for IP protection and disputes work.” They highlighted the firm’s “technical expertise for patent work” noting that it is “quite broad, covering areas such as life sciences, software/ICT, electronics, and mechanical engineering” with “patent practitioners [who] are dual qualified to deal with both patent protection and litigation.”
