MIP IP Stars 2025 names Smart & Biggar Tier 1 firm, recognizes 21 practitioners as IP Stars

Smart & Biggar is pleased to be recognized as a Tier 1 firm for both Trademark Prosecution and Trademark Disputes in the 2025 edition of Managing IP (MIP) IP STARS. This edition names 21 practitioners IP Stars, highlighting their leadership in the field of intellectual property.

This high praise follows the firm’s wins at the MIP North America Awards 2025, where we received Canadian Firm of the Year awards for Patent Prosecution and Copyright. The firm also received the Impact Case of the Year award for our work in Tekna Plasma Systems Inc v AP&C Advanced Powders & Coatings Inc (2024 FC 871). Additionally, Principal Christian Bolduc was named Canadian Practitioner of the Year (Trademark Prosecution), and Principal Guillaume Lavoie Ste-Marie was named Practitioner of the Year (Copyright).
