Christian Bolduc awarded the Shelley Jones Outstanding Contribution Award at IPIC2026

Smart & Biggar proudly congratulates counsel Christian Bolduc on receiving the Shelley Jones Outstanding Contribution Award at the 2026 Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) Conference.

The Shelley Jones Outstanding Contribution Award recognizes a Committee member who has made an exceptional contribution to both their Committee and IPIC. These individuals go above and beyond in supporting their Committee’s objectives, ultimately helping IPIC advance its strategic goals.

Under Christian’s leadership as Chair, the Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Committee significantly expanded its French-language educational programming, making high-quality professional development more accessible to Francophone IPIC members across Canada. Recognizing the evolving needs of practitioners, he was instrumental in introducing an innovative case-study component to the IP Strategy Series, “Being an Effective IP Strategist”, providing participants with practical, real-world insights and interactive learning opportunities.

Christian also played a key role in guiding the development of the “AI & IP Law” webinar series, bringing together leading experts to examine the rapidly evolving intersection of artificial intelligence and intellectual property. This initiative has become an important platform for exploring emerging legal, business and strategic issues in one of the most dynamic areas of practice.

The winners were announced at the Awards Ceremony, held during the Centennial Gala on September 18 at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa, Canada.

Congratulations to Christian on this well-deserved recognition of commitment and excellence.
