Smart & Biggar tops the shortlist in Canada with nine LMG ‘Women in Business Law’ awards in 2023

Smart & Biggar is pleased to announce that we have been shortlisted in nine categories for this year’s LMG Women in Business Law Awards – Americas 2023.

The Women in Business Law Awards celebrates the achievements of women lawyers and the diversity agenda in legal work from firms across the globe. Smart & Biggar is once again shortlisted for more categories than any other nominated Canadian firm on both a firm and individual level.

Recognizing women at the forefront of legal work in business law in North America 2023, Smart & Biggar’s Individual nominations include: Toronto based Principals Yoon Kang, shortlisted for Litigator of the Year, and Nancy Pei, shortlisted for Patent Lawyer of the Year and Life Sciences Lawyer of the Year, based on peer review from leading women practitioners.

Smart & Biggar was also nominated for five firm awards in North America, including “Best Firm” for Career DevelopmentDiverse Women Lawyers, Gender DiversityWork-Life Balance, Women in Business Law and nominated in the Jurisdiction category for Canada. All short-listed law firms were selected for their progressive diversity and inclusion initiatives as well as their programs to support and encourage women and diversity within the industry.

All shortlisted firms and individuals are available to view online. Winners will be announced on June 8, 2023, at an in-person gala ceremony in New York.
