Smart & Biggar welcomes Audrey Berteau to our leading IP litigation team in Montréal
Smart & Biggar is pleased to announce that Audrey Berteau has rejoined the firm as an associate in our Montréal office, and as a member of our leading Canadian IP litigation practice. Previously, Audrey articled alongside the team in Montreal, gaining invaluable experience from Canada’s leading IP lawyers and agents, and assisting our clients with protecting their most important IP needs.
Insightful and strategic solutions to complex IP litigation matters
Audrey is a dedicated IP litigator who is focused on helping clients achieve commercially important intellectual property goals and objectives. With a practical understanding of business strategy and IP law, and bilingual in English and French, Audrey offers exceptional litigation solutions to enable clients to achieve success. Whether conducting research, drafting arguments or preparing opinions, clients appreciate her insightful contributions and thorough consideration of their specific needs and objectives.
Academic excellence in legal methodology and judicial practice
Before beginning her legal career, Audrey obtained her Law B.C.L./J.D. at McGill University and served as a senior editor of the McGill Journal of Law and Health from 2018-2019. She was awarded multiple Bursaries, including the J.W. McConnell Scholarship and the George S Challies Memorial Award, and was included on the Dean’s Honour List in her third year of study.
In addition to her studies, Audrey worked as a teaching assistant for the course Judicial Institutions and Civil Procedure, and as a Legal Methodology Tutorial Leader, instructing first-year law students in reading techniques, legal research, legal writing and oral pleading.
