Manvinder Lalh is a summer student in Smart & Biggar’s Toronto office. He is currently completing his Juris Doctor at Osgoode Hall Law School.
During his legal studies, Manvinder cultivated a strong interest in intellectual property, drawn to its unique intersection of law, business and technology. He competed in the Harold G. Fox Moot, placing as a semi-finalist and was ranked 3rd overall oralist. He also earned a Championship title and Top 10 Oralist recognition at the Baby Jessup International Law Moot.
Manvinder studied Materials Engineering, graduating as the class of 2021 Gold Medalist. He received the VH Hunter Memorial Award and the Louise McKinney Post-Secondary Scholarship, and consistently earned a place on the Dean’s Honour List.
Before law school, Manvinder gained valuable work experience in engineering, materials science and research consulting across various industries. These roles strengthened his ability to work across technical and legal disciplines.
Manvinder is excited to join Smart & Biggar and looks forward to working alongside leaders in the field of intellectual property.
