Ashley is an articling student in our Toronto office. She earned her Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School at York University.

Ashley has a strong record of academic excellence in both her legal and engineering studies. During law school, she deepened her understanding of international intellectual property law through an academic exchange in Hong Kong and competed in the USPTO National Patent Application Drafting Competition, where her team placed third at the regional level.

Ashley holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering from the University of Waterloo, graduating with distinction, where she consistently ranked in the top 15 of her class, earned multiple Dean’s Honour List recognitions, and received the Chevron Communications Award for excellence in presentation-making.

Ashley was actively involved with the IP Innovation Clinic at Osgoode, serving as a clinic fellow and clinic coordinator. In these roles, she worked closely with inventors and start-ups. Her leadership extended to positions with the Osgoode Emerging Technology Association and volunteer work with Law in Action Within Schools, demonstrating her strong commitment to innovation and community engagement.

Before entering law school, Ashley completed several co-op placements, gaining hands-on experience in construction, workplace health and safety, materials and traffic engineering. She was a summer student at Smart & Biggar and looks forward to returning as an articling student to continue developing her expertise in intellectual property law.
