Smart & Biggar welcomes Tim Webb as a new Principal of our leading Patent team in Calgary
Smart & Biggar is pleased to welcome Tim Webb as a new Principal of our leading Canadian Patent team, based out of our office in Calgary, Alberta.
Tim brings considerable expertise to the team, with more than two decades of experience counselling clients on the creation, protection and management of IP rights and helping them secure IP assets that create strategic commercial opportunities.
In his practice, Tim works with clients in the oil & gas and energy sectors focusing on all aspects of drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications. He also handles applications related to mechanical equipment and in the field of medical devices.
His combined expertise as a lawyer, engineer and patent agent allows Tim to provide clients with practical counsel on the patentability of innovations and to guide them in developing a clear IP strategy and portfolio of strategic IP assets.
Tim also provides clients with legal opinions and strategic counsel on complex IP areas including freedom to operate opinions, patent infringement opinions, patent validity and patent clearance, and patent enforcement and litigation.
We are proud to welcome Tim to the firm and wish him every success as he continues to build his practice at Smart & Biggar.
Prior to joining Smart & Biggar, Tim was a Partner in the IP practice of a national full-service firm.
