Smart & Biggar is proud to sponsor the upcoming Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) Annual Conference, which is taking place on October 14-15, 2021. This year’s IPIC conference, “Innovation and IP: Keys to Unlocking Economic
Renewal”, will be hosted virtually for members of the IP law community across Canada.
IPIC’s Annual Conference is the most important IP conference in Canada. Bringing together industry leaders in all areas of Canadian IP law, the provides a platform for practitioners to share their knowledge, exciting developments and updates in
IP law and practice.
Once again, Smart & Biggar will be the Virtual Platform Sponsor and will be represented at the conference this year by lawyers, patent agents and trademark agents from across Canada.
Presenting on a panel session on October 15, partner, patent
and trademark agent, Jean-Sébastien Dupont will discuss “Patent Law debate: Be it resolved that inventive concept has a place in Canadian patent law,” and provide insight for persuasive arguments in favour of and
opposed to the inventive concept.
