Smart & Biggar sponsors the 14th annual Harold G. Fox IP Moot competition for law students
Smart & Biggar is proud once again to sponsor the 14th Annual Harold G. Fox IP Moot competition, taking place virtually online from Friday, February 25 through Saturday 26, 2022, featuring student teams from 13 law schools across Canada.
This year, three Smart & Biggar lawyers from our leading IP Litigation practice will participate as judges on the moot panels including partner Urszula Wojtyra, of counsel Ryan Evans and senior associate Noelle Engle-Hardy. Winners will be celebrated at a virtual awards ceremony following the competition, on Saturday evening.
The Harold G. Fox Moot allows law students to gain hands-on experience in the field of intellectual property. The competition provides participants with the opportunity to present arguments for a ‘case problem’ and interact with jurists of the Supreme Court and the Ontario and Federal Courts, experienced IP practitioners and litigators from the intellectual property bar. It is named in honour of the late Harold G. Fox, one of Canada’s leading intellectual property scholars and advocates.
More information about the Fox Moot is available online.
