Skylar’s patent practice brings together a passion for new and complex technology with a deep understanding of patent law. This, combined with her attention to detail, has earned Skylar a reputation for consistently producing the highest quality of work for her clients.
Calling on her technical expertise, Skylar helps clients navigate the intricacies of innovation. In her practice she drafts and prosecutes patent applications, conducts patent searches, and advises clients on issues relating to patentability, patent validity
and infringement, with a focus on technology and industry sectors including biotechnology, nanotechnology, energy, industrial automation, microelectronics, and environmental science.
Prior to beginning her legal studies, Skylar graduated from the University of Waterloo with a B.Sc. in Nanotechnology Engineering. During her undergraduate studies she gained experience as a student researcher for the Quantum Nano Centre and at the Applied
Nanomaterials and Clean Energy Laboratory, both located at the University of Waterloo, and completed a co-op in Process Engineering at Syncrude Canada.
