Smart & Biggar hosts ACC Quebec for a presentation on building strategic IP for business

Today, Smart & Biggar will partner with the Association for Corporate Counsel (ACC) Quebec to host a lunch presentation to discuss how businesses can build a strategic intellectual property (IP) roadmap to improve competitive advantage, both nationally and internationally.

Smart & Biggar Montreal Managing Partner, François Guay, will be joined by Jonathan Lee Hicky, Vice President Legal Affairs and Corporate Secretary at Quebecor Media, and Jacques Paquin, Secretary and Vice President of Corporate Affairs at Camso, to make the case for more dynamic and effective protection of IP rights by in-house counsel.

Topics will include:

  • How to use your IP more dynamically and effectively
  • How to align IP strategy with your business goals
  • Understanding the strategic role of legal counsel in building an IP roadmap
  • Practical examples

The presentation will be followed by a roundtable discussion with attendees.

The ACC Quebec Chapter represents more than 230 in-house counsel across the province of Quebec through networking, knowledge sharing and continuing legal education on behalf of the in-house profession.
