Smart & Biggar, with ACC Alberta, hosts virtual masterclass on Canadian IP law for in-house counsel

On Thursday, November 26, Smart & Biggar, in collaboration with the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) Alberta, will host a virtual masterclass titled “Strategies for in-house counsel to manage intellectual property risk and opportunity”. Our expert panel of IP lawyers will provide an update on Canadian law and practice and discuss best practices for in-house counsel to proactively manage intellectual property (IP) risks.

The panel will include insights from Smart & Biggar litigation partner Evan Nuttall, senior associate Laura Easton, patent partner Jonas Gifford and trademark counsel Kwan Loh. Through the authoritative lens of the speakers, participants will develop a clear understanding of how to identify, analyze and respond to risk factors and market opportunities related to patents, trademarks and enforcement and litigation in their organizations.

ACC Alberta serves more than 1200 In-house lawyers by offering educational programs, networking opportunities and resources specific to the needs of In-house counsel in Alberta and the prairie provinces. The chapter also hosts networking events around professional interests to support our local community of in-house colleagues.
