Canada’s Intellectual Property Firm

Smart & Biggar tops the shortlist in Canada with seven LMG ‘Women in Business Law’ awards in 2022

Smart & Biggar is pleased to share that we have been shortlisted in seven categories for this year’s LMG Women in Business Law Awards – Americas 2022.

The Women in Business Law Awards celebrates the achievements of women lawyers and the diversity agenda in legal work from firms across the globe. Recognized on both a firm and individual level, Smart & Biggar is once again shortlisted for more categories than any other nominated Canadian firm.

Individual nominations, recognizing women at the forefront of legal work in business law in North America 2022, include Montréal partner Ekaterina Tsimberis, shortlisted for Trademark Lawyer of the Year and Toronto partner Nancy Pei, shortlisted for Patent Lawyer of the Year. Both partners were selected based on peer review from leading women practitioners.

Smart & Biggar is also nominated for five firm awards for North America, including “Best Firm” for Career Development, Gender Diversity, Work-Life Balance, Women in Business Law and nominated in the Jurisdiction category for Canada. All short-listed law firms were selected for their progressive diversity and inclusion initiatives as well as their programs to support and encourage women and diversity within the industry.

All shortlisted firms and individuals are available to view online. Winners will be announced on June 9, 2022, at an in-person gala ceremony.
