Smart & Biggar welcomes Linli Liu to our patents group
Smart & Biggar is pleased to welcome Linli Liu to our growing patents team. Linli joins the firm as a Technical Consultant and will work alongside our expert IP lawyers and agents in the Toronto and Montréal offices.
Linli’s practice is focused on patent drafting and prosecution, drawing from her strong and diverse range of technical expertise. Linli holds an advanced degree in electrical engineering, allowing her to advise clients on the best course of action in multitude of complex patent issues.
Before joining Smart & Biggar, Linli worked as an in-house patent engineer in a global telecommunications company located in China, where she gained valuable experience in drafting patent applications and prosecuting patent applications in various technical areas, such as telecommunications, semiconductor areas, consumer devices, and artificial intelligence.
Linli was a certified Chinese patent agent and is familiar with Canadian, US, and Chinese patent law. In addition, she brings knowledge and experience with patent laws in other jurisdictions, including Europe, Japan, and Korea where she managed a large volume of patent portfolios.
