Smart & Biggar sees three principals honoured in the Rising Stars Awards Americas 2022
Smart & Biggar is pleased to share that principals Jean-Sébastien Dupont, Graham Hood and Guillaume Lavoie Ste-Marie have each been honoured as a 'Rising Star' in the Rising Stars Awards Americas 2022, presented by Euromoney’s Legal Media Group (LMG), the publishers of Managing IP.
Jean-Sébastien Dupont received recognition for two awards (Litigation and Jurisdiction Award for Canada). He is an accomplished IP litigator, Jean-Sébastien is committed to providing legal solutions and achieving results that fit with his clients’ short- and long-term business plans. Clients rely on him to present potential options and to provide decisive guidance on the best course of action. Jean-Sébastien is involved in all aspects of litigation from preparing and initiating new court proceedings to bringing complex cases to trial.
Graham Hood was named a ‘Rising Star’ for Trademarks. As a highly experienced trademark lawyer, Graham’s counsel is sought after by brand owners focused on building and protecting their brands and reputations through efficient trademark clearance and prosecution. He regularly advises clients on effective strategies to manage and monetize their trademark portfolios and has successfully enforced clients’ trademark rights in Canada’s Federal and provincial courts.
Guillaume Lavoie Ste-Marie was listed as a ‘Rising Star’ for copyrights. He is trusted by his clients to put in place practical and results-driven litigation strategies in complex IP matters. By devoting the time and energy necessary to fundamentally understand their business, Guillaume can develop efficient and creative approaches to leverage litigation in his clients’ favour. He represents local, national and international clients in a diverse array of industries, including motion picture and other media, broadcasting, retail goods, personal care products, sports equipment, food and beverage, and industrial products.
