Nikola concentrates on drafting and prosecuting strategic patent portfolios with a focus on electrical, computer, and software technologies.
He works on a range of technologies, including medical imaging systems, medical devices, optoelectronics, system-on-chip technologies, artificial intelligence software, audio and video processing hardware and software, telecommunications, oil and gas systems, and power electronics.
Nikola leverages his technical expertise to understand his client’s needs and business objectives when developing an IP strategy. He tailors solutions to meet specific client requirements, providing timely and pragmatic services. He actively assists clients in preparing and prosecuting patent applications, not only within Canada but also across jurisdictions worldwide. He also provides counsel on a variety of patent matters.
Nikola received his J.D. from the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Prior to his legal studies, Nikola obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering with Distinction from UBC. He is also a registered patent agent and trademark agent.
