Yoon Kang and Urszula Wojtyra recognized at Euromoney LMG Americas Women in Business Law Awards

Smart & Biggar congratulates partners Yoon Kang and Urszula Wojtyra on being recognized among the leading women in business law for intellectual property by Euromoney Legal Media Group (LMG) at the Americas Women in Business Law Awards.

Yoon Kang, a leader in the life sciences practice in Smart & Biggar’s Toronto office, was named ‘Best Lawyer in Life Science’ across the Americas. Yoon has also been recognized by a wide range of domestic and international rankings, including Euromoney's Expert Guides: Women in Business law, LMG Life Sciences as a 'Life Science Star’, in addition to Managing Intellectual Property’s IP Stars Handbook.

Urszula Wojtyra, also a partner in the firm’s Toronto office, was selected as a ‘Rising Star’ for Intellectual Property. Urszula has also been named as a ‘Rising Star’ in LMG Rising Stars under Life Sciences since 2015.

Smart & Biggar was also short-listed for several firm-level awards, and is proud to have been recognized among the ‘best firms’ for Diversity and Gender, both in Canada and North America.

The 7th Annual Euromoney LMG Women in Business Law Awards took place at the Essex House in New York City on June 7, 2018 and recognized individuals, teams and firms setting a new standard in progressive work practices and leading the way in their practice areas. All entrants were nominated through a combination of editorial research and peer review.

These accolades add to the firm’s recent recognition by MIP as Canadian IP Boutique Firm of the Year and as the Canadian Patent Contentious Firm of the Year.
