Smart & Biggar offices featured as ‘modern and open’ by global interior design resource
The local Toronto offices of Smart & Biggar were recently featured on Office Snapshots, a leading online resource for the global office and interior design community that looks behind the scenes of some of the world’s most interesting and inspirational companies.
Smart & Biggar is one of the leading law firms in Canada, with a focus exclusively on intellectual property & technology. Our lawyers and agents work with companies from around the world to provide strategic advice and counsel on the latest innovations and inventions.
When the firm’s Toronto offices were relocating to the heart of the financial district last summer, they had a very clear brief in mind: to create a modern and open environment to enable collaboration and innovative thinking. “Intellectual property is about creating value from ideas, and is a field that is fast paced and ever changing” says Office Managing Partner, Mark Evans.“We work very closely and openly with our clients as a team and we wanted to create a space to reflect our collaborative nature, and promote communication and the exchange of ideas, between our professionals and our clients.”
Smart & Biggar looked to SDI Interior Design, a local firm that specializes in creating innovative interiors that are highly functional and motivational, and built on the strengths of clients’ corporate culture. SDI created an office design for the firm that is both modern and respectful to the culture and history of the firm, using materials inspired by the rich natural elements found in the Canadian landscape.
