Smart & Biggar tops the list with 5 patent professionals recognized as 2021 IAM Global Leaders
Smart & Biggar is pleased to share that five patent practitioners have been recognized as IAM Global Leaders, more than any other firm in Canada. Congratulations to firm chair Daphne Lainson, of counsel Gunars Gaikis, partners François Guay and John Knox, and firm managing partner Matthew Zischka for their showcase among the world’s most elite patent practitioners in private practice, and in addition to their gold tier ranking on the IAM Patent 1000.
Earlier this year, sixteen of Smart & Biggar’s patent lawyers and agents were featured in the main IAM 1000 guide, across all categories of patent litigation, prosecution and transactions. The guide’s coverage lauded Smart & Biggar as a “gold-standard firm” that “lives up to its name”, quoting favourable client impressions of the team as one that “never ceases to amaze”, and as “a team of contentious heavyweights to secure optimum results in litigation”.
Sanjay Goorachurn and Daphne Lainson were also listed as leading experts for IP strategy in the IAM Strategy 300 guide released earlier this fall.
Smart & Biggar is widely recognized as Canada’s leading firm for intellectual property law, with offices in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver and Calgary. We are leaders in intellectual property and technology law and have been serving clients for over a century.
