Smart & Biggar presents “Inventor of the Year” to Fitterfirst at the PROFIT 500 CEO Summit

Smart & Biggar was a silver sponsor of the PROFIT 500 CEO Summit which was held at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017. More than 250 executives and leaders of the companies featured in the 2017 ranking attended the full day event featuring panel presentations, keynote speakers and networking.

Ron Faggetter, chair of the firm’s executive committee, and Mark Evans, managing partner of the Toronto office, attended the event to meet with leaders throughout the day, and to facilitate conversations during the “Idea Exchange” roundtable sessions.

Smart & Biggar was proud to present the first ever PROFIT 500 “Inventor of the Year” award to Louis Stack, founder and CEO of Fitter International (Fitterfirst) for mastering the art of conceiving, developing, refining and commercializing new ideas.

Fitterfirst, is a designer and manufacturer of fitness training tools and ergonomic office products created to help people improve their physical wellbeing and balance. As he presented the award, Ron remarked “While a great idea is foundational to a great business it is by no means a guarantee of success; it’s a remarkable feat to turn a great idea into a viable business and even more remarkable to create a business that achieves sustained long term growth.”

This was the 15th annual PROFIT 500 CEO Summit, an invitation-only event exclusively for executives and leaders of the 2017 PROFIT 500 companies.  Profit 500 is an annual ranking of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies and its companion STARTUP 50 ranks Canada’s Top New Growth Companies.
