Canada’s Intellectual Property Firm

Smart & Biggar team sponsors and attends the IPIC 2023 Annual Conference

Smart & Biggar is proud to provide our continued support for the upcoming Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC) Annual Conference, taking place in person on October 11-13, 2023. This year’s IPIC conference will be hosted in Winnipeg, MB for members of the IP law community across Canada.

As part of the conference program, we are pleased to participate as a Gold Sponsor for the IP Routable and Lunch on Friday, October 13. Among conference attendees, Smart & Biggar will be represented by Principal Stephen Martin, Associate Reagan Seidler and Patent Agent Chris Collett.

In addition, Principal Daniel Davies will be the moderator for a panel “Breaking Down the Year’s Most Important IP Court Decisions”, facilitating discussions on the year’s ground-breaking IP cases and how they change the world of IP. Associate Meika Ellis will be speaking on “The Impact of UNDRIP on Canada’s Intellectual Property Law,” and provide insights on the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (UNDRIP) and how it affects IP law and the practice of law.

We wish the organizing committee at IPIC and all the speakers and attendees a successful conference. The full program, speaker line up and registration details are available online.

The Intellectual Property Institute of Canada is a professional association of patent agents, trademark agents and IP lawyers in Canada. IPIC's mission is to enhance our members’ expertise as trusted intellectual property advisors and to shape a policy and business environment that encourages the development, use, and value of intellectual property in Canada.
