Smart & Biggar hosts the 2023 AIPLA ‘Women in IP’ networking event in Vancouver
Smart & Biggar was proud to host the 16th annual “Women in IP” networking event on April 27, 2023, at our Vancouver office, in partnership with the American Intellectual Property Law Association (AIPLA).
An ongoing initiative led by the AIPLA these “Women in IP” networking events are hosted simultaneously by firms in 54 cities on the same day worldwide. This year, #OwningYourVoice, was chosen by AIPLA as the event theme, to encourage women to speak up about their role in the profession to reach their full potential.
In Vancouver, Principal Andrea Berenbaum, Senior Associate, Artemis Lai, and Associate Emily Miller hosted women from IP, law and technology for an evening of learning, networking and cocktails. The evening included an interactive leadership communication workshop, facilitated by The Humphrey Group, to demonstrate how women can harness and channel their authentic presence through communication to connect with their audience as leaders.
With the AIPLA, Smart & Biggar shares a goal to inspire and empower. By supporting women in IP the firm recognizes the tremendous contributions and achievements of women in the innovation, creative, science, math, business and technology spheres.
