Smart & Biggar is proud to share that Ottawa partner and Chair of the firm Daphne Lainson and Vancouver partner Mark Pidkowich have been recognized in the 10th annual LMG Life Sciences Awards Americas 2022. The awards took place on September 8, 2022, at Essex House in New York City.

Daphne Lainson has once again been awarded the ‘Canadian Patent Strategy Practitioner of the Year’ Award, acknowledging her highly revered dedication in navigating the complex life sciences patent-regulatory landscape. With close to 25 years of experience in intellectual property law and patent agency, Daphne champions and effectively safeguards her clients’ intellectual property rights.

Mark Pidkowich is a recipient of the ‘Canadian Rising Star’ Award in recognition of his dedicated service to clients in the chemical and life sciences sectors. With a broad knowledge of IP laws beyond Canada and the United States, Mark offers clients a unique understanding of other jurisdictions that may serve to strengthen their positions in a global market.
