Strategic trademark and copyright guidance for diverse brands

Jennifer is a trademark lawyer committed to helping clients build, protect and enforce their intellectual property rights. Her practice spans trademark prosecution and copyright law, with a growing emphasis on brand protection for clients across a wide range of industries.

She provides clear and effective guidance on trademark clearance and prosecution, assisting clients in selecting, protecting and registering their marks in Canada and internationally. Her practice also includes preparing responses to examiner objections and representing clients in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademarks Opposition Board. Jennifer’s background in the arts brings valuable insights to copyright protection, where she supports clients in creative sectors to protect original works and navigate IP-related challenges.

During her legal studies, Jennifer managed the Artists’ Legal Advice Services (ALAS) legal clinic at the University of Toronto Faculty of Law, where she helped artists address trademark and copyright issues by connecting them with legal professionals. She also served as Senior Forum Editor for the University of Toronto Faculty of Law Review.

Prior to law school, Jennifer earned an undergraduate degree from the University of Toronto, where she was a Research Assistant in classical architecture and contributed as an Art Writer for Artoronto Magazine. She is a recipient of several academic awards, including the Denis Leyne Famine Studies Scholarship, the McGovern Scholarship, the John Melady Memorial Scholarship and the Irish Language Award Scholarship, which supported her study of Irish in Galway, Ireland.
