Alice Tseng addresses issues concerning Cannabis advertising and promotion at OBA Advertising & Marketing Law 2019

The Ontario Bar Association (OBA) professional development annual program — Advertising & Marketing Law 2019: Social, Digital, Online Compliance — takes place on October 3, 2019 in Toronto. Attendees of the one day session will navigate current trends and enhance their understanding of advertising and marketing law.

Smart & Biggar partner, Alice Tseng, joined by Adam Vassos, will host a session that examines the legalization of cannabis edibles. The two experts will assess the first year of cannabis legalization and provide and update on the second round of legalization. Attendees will understand edibles in advertising and marketing plans and review and assess promotional activities complying with the Cannabis Act.

In addition to cannabis, attendees will also gain knowledge on the developments in advertising standards, hear updates from the Competition Bureau, identify intellectual property issues in advertising and explore the unique topic of advertising in the automotive sector.
