Yuxin Duan is a summer student at Smart & Biggar’s Ottawa office.
She holds a dual degree of Honours Business Administration (BA) and Honours Specialization in Interdisciplinary Medical Sciences (BMSc) from Western University. She is currently completing her Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa.
Her undergraduate studies allowed her to contribute to innovation-focused projects, including a New Venture Program business plan for a royalty-investment platform. Her undergraduate thesis was health science-focused, creating a data visualization to support knowledge mobilization and interdisciplinary collaboration.
She actively participates in student leadership as the 2L Representative for the Law & Technology Student Society, previously serving as the 1L Representative for the University of Ottawa Association of Women and the Law.
She is excited to join Smart & Biggar for the chance to learn from leading IP practitioners while working on a wide range of matters.
