Nimer Boparai is a summer student at Smart & Biggar’s Toronto office.
She holds an Honours BSc in Biology and Mathematics from McMaster University where she worked on a bioremediation project addressing soil contamination, which sparked an interest in how rapidly evolving technologies are protected and brought to market.
Nimer is a student at Osgoode Law School and a volunteer at the Osgoode IP Innovation Clinic, supporting early-stage innovators. She received the N. A. Taylor Entrance Scholarship (2025), and earned 4th place oralist in the Lerners Cup Moot.
Nimer serves as a Coordinator with the Youth Council of Brampton East, is the Director of Finance for the Osgoode Sikh Students’ Association, volunteers with LEAF Toronto, and will serve as the 2027 Pro Bono Students Canada Program Coordinator for the Osgoode chapter.
Nimer is excited to join Smart & Biggar for a chance to work with its experienced and knowledgeable IP practitioners, and to gain exposure to case work with a keen focus on IP litigation.
