Smart & Biggar welcomes two new associates to our Toronto office
Smart & Biggar is pleased to welcome Svitlana Penner and Kimberly Ren as associates in our Toronto office. Both rejoin the firm following their terms as articling students. They will work alongside Canada’s IP leaders to support clients in safeguarding their innovations and addressing key IP challenges.
Svitlana Penner – Associate, Trademarks
Svitlana is a trademark lawyer dedicated to helping clients secure and protect their intellectual property rights with precision and strategic insight. With over 12 years of international trademark experience, Svitlana handles trademark and copyright protection across Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Canada and the broader North American market.
Kimberly Ren – Associate, Patents: EICT
With a rigorous background in engineering, Kim brings a results-oriented methodology to patent law. She is committed to helping innovators secure robust, enterprise-focused intellectual property through thoughtful and strategic patent prosecution. She has experience with both early-stage tech companies and established Canadian businesses operating domestically as well as in the U.S., Europe, Asia and beyond.
