Ekaterina Tsimberis presents Trademark Law Update in IPIC "Year in Review" webinar series

Montreal partner Ekaterina Tsimberis will co-present the Trademark Law Update alongside industry colleagues on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 1pm ET, as part of the “Year in Review in IP Law” webinar series presented by the Intellectual Property Institute of Canada (IPIC).

This webinar will cover a wide range of Trademark cases from 2020, with Ekaterina focusing on cases specifically involving trademark infringement and passing off — including those addressing comparative advertising, brand parody and depreciation of goodwill — as well as trademark opposition appeals.

In her practice, Ekaterina has focused on providing clients with strategic counsel on trademark protection and portfolio management, including enforcement and litigation for over two decades. Ekaterina has successfully advocated for her clients before the Federal Court of Canada on cases related to trademarks, industrial designs and passing-off, and in trademark oppositions and section 45 proceedings (proving use/non-use of a registered trademark) before the Canadian Intellectual Property Office and the Federal Court.
