Gunars Gaikis and Alice Tseng present at inaugural PxP conference
Partners, Gunars Gaikis and Alice Tseng, join a roster of Canadian pharmaceutical leaders as speakers at the Pharmacy Experience Pharmacie (PxP) conference, in Toronto from June 3-4, 2019.
In their session “What Pharmacists Need to Know about Cannabis”, Gunars and Alice address how the cannabis industry will impact pharmacists from a community pharmacy business perspective, developments in cannabis from a research perspective, intersection with the pharmaceutical industry, how CBD products are regulated and their significance, restrictions on the sale of products like vaporizers due to laws on cannabis and vapour products, and differences and similarities between pharma, natural health products and cannabis.
With the recent legalization of cannabis in Canada, Gunars and Alice will help attendees understand the opportunities that exist for pharmacies with cannabis legalization and the impact of both medical and recreational cannabis on pharmacist's traditional business. They will also discuss likely developments and changes for the future, so pharmacists can better serve other health care professionals and the public.
PxP2019 is the inaugural event that replaces CPhA and OPA’s individual conferences. It is the national gathering for the entire pharmacy community to come together to learn, connect and be inspired about pharmacy as a profession, a practice and a calling. From big picture perspectives to practical takeaways, PxP2019 features engaging sessions that encourage attendees to share their experiences and learn from each other.
